CARE skills can be used by any adult in any setting who interacts with children and teens 2-18 years old who have experienced trauma. Parents, school staff, childcare workers, healthcare, and many more learn to increase positive interaction, child engagement, and reduce mild-to-moderate behavior challenges. Training Length: 4 hours with optional coaching calls

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Training Length: 1.5 hours

Learn about building resilience, raw coping power, and stress management. This training equips participants with practical exercises that help identify positive and negative coping cycles and lifestyle choices that impact resiliency. Training Length: 1.5 hours 

This training is for any caring adult (school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders, parents, caregivers, etc.) who interacts with youth 12-18 years old experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or who is in crisis. 
Certification Training Length: In-person - 8 hours; Blended - 5.5 hours virtual or in-person plus 2 hours of required online pre-work.

Alternatives for Families: a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT) is a trauma-informed evidence-based treatment designed to improve the relationships between children and caregivers involved in arguments/conflict, physical force / discipline/ aggression, child physical abuse, or child behavior problems. Register online.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents affected by trauma and their parents or caregivers. TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences.

This training prepares clinicians to teach CARE skills in a group setting. Requires travel to Durham, NC for training. To qualify, clinicians must have completed training in one these: 

• Helping the Non-Compliant Child (HNC) 
• Incredible Years (IY) ‑ Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
• Parent Management Training-Oregon Model (PMTO)

A series of lunchtime workshops that support mental health clinicians in their practice. Topics vary, but may include how to write good progress notes, what to do if you are subpoenaed, and how to offer language and culturally appropriate services.
