Learn About My Big Notebook and the Navigator Workshops

My Big Notebook provides a buddy in a book, as a great start to an elementary school aged child's mental health toolkit. Intentionally designed to resemble a composition notebook to be discreet, it includes real stories, healthy coping mechanisms, positive affirmations, resources, and coloring and journaling pages. 

The award-winning author, Carla Carlisle, is a former foster, now adoptive mom with the vision that every U.S.-based child receives their own copy of the book and learns to express feelings in a healthy way, minimizing the stigma of mental health. 

With over a decade of experience as a loving advocate for her child with extensive Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Carla's vision was to leverage their lived experiences, knowledge from therapy and training to explain/introduce evidence-based techniques to help children process and express their feelings in a positive way.

Notebook Navigators' Workshops (Youth)

  • Pearls of Brilliance from the Gurus: Guided by seasoned mentors with a zeal for the mental well-being of children and families. 
  • Enchanted Tools to Help Find Your Way Home: Each adventurer gets their own special edition of "My Big Notebook," filled with secret treasures and missions to keep the adventure alive even after returning home.
