Office of Health Equity

The Office of Health Equity works with diverse multisector partners to advance health equity by reducing health-related disparities in targeted priority populations through 4 core programs: Community Engagement; Community Health Workers Initiative; Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health (ICO4MCH) and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program); and Village HeartBEAT.

    Supports priority communities to address health inequities through public health education and culturally relevant resources.

    Cultivates a collaborative environment to better align community health worker program initiatives in Mecklenburg County through the assembly of stakeholders that are deeply invested in the profession.

    Improving birth outcomes, reducing infant mortality and improving health among children aged zero to 5.

  • Triple P (Positive Parenting Program)

    Gives parents the practical skills they need to build strong family relationships, manage and prevent misbehavior problems.

  • Village HeartBEAT

    Engaging and training members of faith-based organizations, small businesses, and community partners in strategies to prevent chronic disease through a faith-based community engagement initiative.
