The Region 4 Tobacco-Free Alliance is a network of individuals and organizations supporting tobacco prevention and control efforts in 11 counties across the piedmont and foothills of North Carolina.
The mission of this collaborative network is to develop and maintain a well-informed group of stakeholders who can act as tobacco control advocates and partner with others to voice support, mobilize action and organize initiatives around four goals:
Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke through smoke-free and tobacco-free environments.
Ensure that tobacco users are linked to quit (cessation) resources.
Prevent youth initiation of tobacco use.
Address disparity issues for populations with higher tobacco use rates.
Maps and Dashboards
North Carolina counties and municipalities have the authority to restrict smoking and tobacco use in their buildings, on their grounds (including government-owned parks), and inside public places (where members of the public are invited or permitted to enter).
