MeckMoves is an annual 16-week countywide fitness challenge that encourages you to move your way toward a healthier lifestyle and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
Eligibility
MeckMoves is an annual free, 16-week fitness challenge that encourages participants to move your way toward a healthy lifestyle. The program is open to anyone 18 years or older in Mecklenburg County. To be eligible to participate, individuals must attend the MeckCheck health screening event prior to the challenge.
Screenings will include:
- Height
- Weight
- Waist circumference
- Body mass index
- Blood pressure
- Hemoglobin A1C
- Total cholesterol

How Does the Challenge Work?
Participants will compete in teams. Each team will be ranked on the Engagement Leaderboard. Your team’s rank will be determined by total workout minutes. Individuals will be recognized for progress in health outcomes.
How Progress is Tracked
The Sworkit app tracks physical activity. It syncs with Apple Health, Fitbit, and Google Fit. Activity can also be entered manually. Health screenings will show results before and after the challenge.
Engagement Leaderboard
Your team’s rank will be determined by total workout minutes. Individuals will be recognized for progress in health outcomes. The Engagement Leaderboard ranks teams into three tiers: High, Moderate, and Low Engagement, based on their total workout minutes, with the top three teams earning 1 , 2 , and 3 place.
