Join us for the first session in our trauma-informed training series, Resilience Rising Series: Harnessing Hope to Uplift Communities.
Session 1 - Understanding Trauma & Building Resilience in Communities will provide a powerful one-hour webinar that takes a deep dive into trauma and its far-reaching impact on individuals and communities. Participants will explore:
• The long-term effects of trauma on physical and mental health, including its connection to community violence and behavioral health outcomes.
• How trauma manifests differently in youth and adults, with attention to developmental and behavioral distinctions.
• The principles and application of trauma-informed care (TIC), including examples of how agencies have successfully integrated TIC into their practices.
• Practical strategies for working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
This session will equip participants with both foundational knowledge and actionable tools to begin integrating trauma-informed practices into a variety of professional settings. Participants will be eligible for 0.1 CEUs or 1.0 contact hours through South Piedmont AHEC.
