Mecklenburg County Public Health Back to School Vaccination clinic event

Back-to-School Immunizations
-

All students must be up to date on their required vaccines by Sept. 24, 2025, or have an approved exemption, or they could be excluded from school. At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, around 3% of students enrolled at CMS schools (nearly 5,000) were not up to date on their vaccines. Recently, there has been a rise in vaccine preventable diseases including a confirmed case of measles in Mecklenburg County in 2024 and an increase in cases of whooping cough in Mecklenburg County in 2024.

Public Health will be offering additional clinic hours in September for school required vaccines on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northwest Health Department (2845 Beatties Ford Road) and Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center (430 Stitt Road). Evening clinic hours will also be offered Sept. 15 through Sept. 19 until 7 p.m. at the Southeast Health Department (249 Billingsley Road) and the Northwest Health Department (2845 Beatties Ford Road). Appointments can be scheduled by calling 704-336-6500.
